Week 9

After my feedback, I’ve been working on ways to improve tracking visuals. Being completely honest, I expected this to be much easier.

I ended up working on a blob-tracking patch because I thought it would complement the existing setup, but I don’t think it is cohesive. Here are the results:

Because I’m not pleased, I’m pivoting. I’ll have the tracking visuals set on their own screen and utilize camera feedback. I think this fits my aesthetic and also leaves plenty of room for play. Audience members can have a lot of fun with this! Here is an example, I’ve done this before, but on a smaller scale.

It’s a little difficult to see in this example, but you can see the body and phone in my friend’s hand multiply infinitely as a result of the camera feedback.

I’ve also improved the tracking system so that it is smoother, can track three people at once, and uses the body instead of the hand.

I really enjoyed presenting my work at the crique/demo; it was super enlightening to see people interact with my project firsthand. People have said that, overall, I am in a very good place, but I just need to iterate on the visuals a little bit more and then document!

I need to work on the relationship between the user and feedback.
